Internal Auditor honored Manny Rosenfeld and Larry Baker for articles they wrote for the magazine in 2014.
Rosenfeld received the 2015 John B. Thurston Award for Literary Excellence this week at The IIA’s International Conference in Vancouver for “No Crash Landings,” which appeared in the February 2014 issue. His article covered operational audits of repair and maintenance functions. Rosenfeld has been a CAE at several Fortune 500 companies.
The Thurston award, established in 1952 to honor The IIA’s first international president, is made annually for the outstanding feature article published in the magazine. Click

Baker received the 2015 Ted Keys Award for
“Addressing Risk in a Dynamic World,” which appeared in the June 2014 Risk Watch section of the magazine. His article described the process internal auditors at Devon Energy Corp. in Oklahoma City use to identify emerging risks. Baker is an enterprise risk management and audit professional at Devon.
The Keys Award is presented annually for the outstanding article that appeared in one of
Internal Auditor’s departments. It is named in honor of the late Elmer Theodore Keys Jr., a long-time contributing writer for the magazine. Click
